The pieces
How many of each piece are made?
As many as the cloth allows, and no more. Every piece is cut from deadstock — a roll that exists once and cannot be reordered. When the roll ends, the run ends, and that piece does not return. Each product page shows how many remain once a run is nearly out.
Where are they made?
Cut, seamed and finished by hand in Poland, from European leather and Italian or French deadstock cloth. Deadstock means the mill made it, someone did not use it, and it would otherwise have been destroyed. It is why a fabric cannot be reordered, and why a run ends.
Why is there no new collection every season?
Because the cloth decides. A capsule exists when a roll exists. Seven capsules are in the archive now, named for the year of their making.
Size and fit
Which size am I?
EU 34 to 42. The measurements for every size are on the size guide, and every photograph on this site is the same body in the same size. Structured and corseted pieces are cut close to the body — if you are between two sizes, take the larger one for those, the smaller for tulle and toile.
What if I am between two sizes?
Write before ordering rather than after. We will tell you honestly which number will sit better, and if neither will, we will tell you that too.
Something no longer fits the way it did. Can it be altered?
A body changes. Corsetry and structured bodices are built with seam allowance for exactly that reason, and a piece we cut can be opened and taken in again. Write to us with the measurement that has moved.
Ordering
How long until it arrives?
Prepared in the atelier within two to three business days, then shipped insured and tracked. Delivery times by country are on the shipping page.
Can I return something?
Fourteen days, without giving a reason — the full terms are in the Widerrufsbelehrung. Send it back unworn, with tags.
Do you ship outside the EU?
Yes — to fourteen countries, among them Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Japan. Customs duties and import charges there are paid by you on delivery, not by us at checkout, and we would rather you knew that here than at your own door.
Keeping them
How do I care for leather, tulle, jacquard?
Each cloth wants something different, and getting it wrong is how a piece dies. The care page is written per fabric, not in general.
Something tore. Is that the end?
No. Every piece was closed by hand, so it can be opened and closed again. Repairs on our own construction are free for two years from purchase — you pay the shipping to Berlin, we pay it back. Send a photograph first.
I no longer wear it. What then?
Write to us before you throw anything away. At worst we can tell you where the cloth can go on.

Can I see the pieces in person?
The atelier is not a shop. It opens for one person at a time, by arrangement — write to us.
